Scratch Not Connecting to GoPiGo

Hey streckerja, totally on our list to do that. But I need to work out a few more kinks (pretty obviously!) on the upgrade move first.

Thanks and glad it finally worked!

Just a quick question. Can I power the Raspberry Pi from the USB power connector with the GoPiGo board installed? or does power need to come from the 9v input on the GoPiGo board?

Another quick question… Can the GoPiGo board piggyback on the BrickPi board?

Hey Streckerja, great to hear from you again! We recommend that you program with the USB power plugged in, but when you’re ready to run the motors, you need to have the AA batteries in place or you risk damaging the Raspberry Pi and GoPiGo.

The GoPiGo can’t piggyback on the BrickPi board; they’re not setup to stack properly. In theory, if you wanted to run some lines for the serial and power between the boards, it could be done, but there’s not a convenient way to stack the two systems.

Again, glad to hear from you again! John
