Tyre Defect

How are you powering the whole GoPiGo. Can you follow the guide here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMadpIEYq5o and run the troubleshooting script and upload the log so that we can find the problem.

Powering with 8 AA batteries, GPS reporting 10.7V power
Will do tests later

Hey,
Can you follow the video here to update the firmware on your GoPiGo and then run the tests again to see if it is any better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JeiydBdDhjE&t=6m40s.

Bump

Hey,
Did the new motors work when you received them or were they causing the problem from the very start. Can you run the basic test all python program here and enter the tr command to read the trim and tell us what you get there. Can you try swapping the pins to which the motor is connected just to see if it works on the other side. Do you have a 9V power supply which you can use to directly power the motors just to make sure that they are the ones causing the problem.

One works like a charm, one failed badly. No trim value set, I swapped the pins but still doesn’t work, the motor which failed moves without the tire every 3 seconds but only moves for 1 second with the tire. Sadly I don’t have a 9V power supply

Hey KingCraftNub,
Looks like you have received a bad motor again. I am really sorry for this, it really shouldn;t have happened. Thanks a lot for testing it out. I’m really sorry for the frustration.

Can you contact us here, under “General Questions and Feedback”: http://www.dexterindustries.com/site/?page_id=65. I have already got in touch with the support team and they send the replacement part to you immediately.

Again, I’m really sorry to hear about this; we’ll make it right immediately.
