Alternate camera?

Hi,

The Raspberry Pi camera on the GoPiGo site is out of stock - can anyone recommend an alternate camera? Eg, would this camera work?

Thanks,
Simon

yes it will work fine.

How do you plan to mount the camera to your GoPiGo3?

Thanks! For connecting the camera, I was planning to follow the instructions - would that work?

BTW, is there a way to see if the camera is working within the browser UI?

Yes that method will work.

I strongly suggest starting with GoPiGo OS and Blockster which will allow you to see the camera output.

You can actually use the “Drive” page on the onboard web interface to use the camera and drive the robot around a bit.

If the camera is working, you’ll get a live video feed on that page.

If you’re considering an alternate camera, it may be worth checking not just the connector compatibility but also whether the required drivers are already supported in the software image you’re using. Hardware compatibility is often the easy part compared to getting everything working smoothly in software.
