Current Drawn by Sensors

Is there any way to determine the current drawn from the GoPiGo/GrovePi by the sensors at any given time?

Hi @cjirvene,

There is no direct way to find the current drawn by the sensors in the GrovePi or GoPiGo. Can you tell us the use case, what you are trying to do, so that we can see if there is a round about for that.

One way would be to get a voltage/amp electric tester tool. You can then hook it up and see how many amps or Volts or whatever is coming out. They can range anywhere from $50 to hundreds. It all depends on what accuracy you need. If you want to see what power comes out you could also check out the schematics.

Thanks for the suggestions.

@Shoban I am interested in modeling the battery voltage, and need to constantly poll the current being drawn.

Meaning you want to see the battery voltage?

No, meaning using the current drawn from the battery and a simulation I want to accurately estimate the voltage.

Hi @cjirvene,

That it isn’t possible as far as I know because we don’t have any mechanisms to measure the current from the battery.
