A power supply between 9V and 12V with a rating of 2A is recommended. Will the motors not run with a cellphone 4400 mAh/5V power pack?

We haven’t tested this, but the motors will run.
The only problem might be if you’re only supplying 5V, you may see the GoPiGo drop off early: there’s a voltage drop from the power regulator.
