Latest software?

Greetings!

Things have been busy here and I have been out of circulation for quite a while - and I still have many messages to read.

I would like to know:

  1. Is there a new official update to GoPiGo O/S that supports Raspberry Pi-5?
  2. Does this update, if it exists, contain/support Trixie and/or the v3 camera?
  3. Can someone summarize for me what I have to do to update a prior version to the latest Dexter software release?
  4. Does this update work on the latest Raspberry Pi O/S?
  5. Is this backward compatible with other/existing Dexter GoPiGo3 software?

Is there anything else I need to know before proceeding?

What say ye?

Do you think it’s suitable for someone, (my granddaughter), that is a novice with the GoPiGo?

GoPiGo OS isn’t updated yet, no. It’s in the plans but hasn’t happened yet.
If you need either the Pi5 or the v3 camera, then you have to install the libraries on your own version of Raspberry Pi OS, and Bloxter isn’t available. Python is, though.

We need to be able to build GoPiGo O/S images ourselves. If “the powers that be” suddenly decide to depreciate the GoPiGo, we’d be stuck.
