Location of the Raspbian for Robots software

There are still users out there using “legacy” products like the GrovePi/GrovePi+, the BrickPi, PivotPi, or earlier GoPiGo versions like the GoPiGo-2, etc.

These products can, (theoretically), run on any compatible version of Raspberry Pi O/S (Raspbian) - but then again, (theoretically), bees can’t fly either.

As someone who has been stung by bees many times, I can assure you there’s often a wide gulf between “theory” and “practice” and this is also true for legacy Dexter Industries products.

The Original and Truly Authorized compatible software for these legacy platforms is Raspbian for Robots, which can be downloaded from here:

  1. The Official Version - that does not support the Pi-4

  2. The “Experimental” Pi-4 compatible version.  It should work, but it’s not 1000% tested.

Warning!

DO NOT USE A PI-4 TO FLASH FIRMWARE!

You WILL cause yourself innumerable problems if you do and our ability to help you may be limited.

Translation:
You might brick your board beyond our ability to help you fix it - so don’t risk it.  Use a Pi-3 or earlier if you think you need to flash firmware!
