New Real time object detection for GoPiGo3

For quite some time we’ve been able to use a PiCamera on the GoPiGo3 with OpenCV (Open Computer Vision) and TensorFlowLite object/face recognition with Jypiter examples in GoPiGo OS or open code examples on PiOS. The performance with a Pi4 was 1 - 10 frames per second.

The Raspberry Pi Foundation has just released a new PiCamera with an integrated neural net processor that delivers 30 FPS object/face/pose detection with any Raspberry Pi model.

Now your GoPiGo3 robot can follow you to the kitchen more easily, and tattle on you for snacking between meals!

Forgot to mention it costs $70…and probably not compatible with GoPiGo OS, but probably can be used on PiOS robots.

That’s a virtual lead-pipe cinch, unless you want to recompile the new PiCamera libraries to work on Buster.

Hmmm. . . .  Piece 'a cake!

Wife: “Don’t you even THINK about it!”
