New Rpi 3 with Gopigo2 kit motors do not respond

Hello,

I am not sure what I am doing wrong here. I set the gopigo2 with Raspberry Pi 3. As per instructions, wifi works but I am unable to run the motor in demo mode. All I see that it ran the test. I do not see any indicators changing lights as per terminal statements but the motors do not turn. Here is the log,txt details Any advice?

Make sure your battery is connected. Also tree should be somewhere a switch. Flip it and try again. It seems that your GoPiGo has no power.

Hi @nikhit.busi,

It looks like the firmware on the GoPiGo isn’t responding, can you update it following this video and clicking on the “Update Robot” and choose “GoPiGo” option on the dropdown. After which can you again try running the the GoPiGo Demo.

Please let us know if this helps,
-Shoban

Hi @Shoban, I reformatted microSD with the image from sourceforge and did the firmware and gopigo update but the board is not responding. Here is the log I got when I did troubleshoot option:

@Shoban instead trying to working with Raspberry Pi 3, I used Raspberry Pi 2 with Gopigo2 and it worked with the same set of instructions. I would recommend that the documentation on the website (that it works with Raspberry Pi 3) should be corrected as it is very misleading. The other option is to provide accurate direction as to what needs to be done to make it work with RPi 3. Going through forums for really confusing.

Hi @nikhit.busi,

Can you tell us which instructions are you referring to and also can you send us a picture of your GoPiGo.
To help you futher can you one more time run sudo bash /home/pi/Desktop/GoPiGo/Setup/install.sh and sudo bash /home/pi/Desktop/GoPiGo/Fimrware/firmware_update.sh from your command line with your GoPiGo connected to Pi3 and send us the screenshots of what you see?

Note: Have your Pi3 connected to Wifi and also do not have motors connected to the GoPiGo while running the Firmware update.

We apologize for the inconvenience and we will assist you in getting it solved soon.
