Question about GrovePi+ for Intel squared board

Hi All,

I’m trying to use GrovePi+ with Intel Up squared board for test.
May I know why GrovePi+ is customized for Intel board?
what’s change on hardware?

Thanks

Hi @zejyun6018,

“Why GrovePi+ is customized for Intel Board?”
We haven’t done anything to it to make it compatible with the UP board. It should be compatible since the UP board is sort of a replica of the Raspberry Pi that is way more performant and it’s based on the x86 architecture.
The only compatibility comes from the efforts the UP board’s team has put in to make their board interchangeable with the Raspberry Pi.

To give you the idea, we don’t even play with UP boards (we didn’t have a project for it yet), we just have heard of them so far, that’s it.

And by the way, the only other post we had about the UP board is this one here: Problem reading from GPIO/AIO when any device is connected on I2C. It might give you some insight about it.

Thank you!

Hi @RobertLucian,

Thanks for your input.

we’re seeing the hardware is a little different. Please refer to the following picture.

Therefore,
we guess it could be something different between them.

Thanks

Hi All,

Wondering if the functions of GrovePi+ with Up squared board are the same as one with Raspberry Pi?
because hardware is a little different.

Looking forward to your feedback.

Thanks

Hi @zejyun6018,

Yes, I just looked into this and it seems like we did a custom version for the UP squared board of the GrovePi - everything should be the same except the level converters.

Thank you!
