My wife loves to say “Hi Dave” as she walks by, and gets a kick when he responds “Hi”, or “Hello”.
She even has gotten used to the occasional “Shalom” and “Hi There”, but when he responds randomly with “Greetings”, “What’s Up?”, or “Ready to slay dragons”, she tells me “You have to change that. Nobody talks like that.”
I explained that is what makes Dave special, but she wants him to be “Normal”.
