Update:
Running the latest Buster beta, (12/12/2019), at initial startup the /home/pi/Dexter directory is owned by “pi:pi”
After running “DI Software Update”, this directory is owned by “root:root”
I suspect that there is a missing step in the updater script that is supposed to change the ownership of /home/pi/Dexter back to “pi:pi”

Oops the missing step is indeed that they should not be owned by pi:pi at all.
The Dexter folder is not meant to be edited by the end user.

OK, but then how is the “end user” (pi) supposed to save his calibration data?
Or, maybe the Control Panel’s save location should be in /home/pi?
