It would help to know if you’re on a Pi4, and if so, is it the 8G version?

After some investigations, doing the dist-upgrade removed the gpio utility. That’s not on our side, but on the Raspberry Pi Foundation side.

I know I worked on this and had solved it, but I seem to have lost the fix. It will take me a couple of days before I can look into this.
Really sorry about this .

Hi there,
I’m having the same problem (and several others). Can you give us an update on this issue?
I can’t execute digitalReads with the board are well. Is this problem related?
Thanks in advance

I’m currently running into this problem as well. When I update the firmware I get that “gpio/direction: No such file or directory”

Has there been any fix to this?

Forgive me if this is unrelated but. . .

Why are you trying to update the firmware?

There’s a known issue with the Pi-4 and firmware updates on the GoPiGo-3 and the official response is “don’t do that!”

Viz.:

Maybe firmware updates of any kind with the Pi-4 are poison?
