Unit of Sound / Light Sensor Value

I am using sound/light sensors. What is the unit of sound sensor output. I have observed that max output is 1023. How to convert this to dB? Is there any way to figure out the whisper, clapping or loud noise?

Similarly what is the unit of light sensor? As the light decreases around the sensor, value of sensor goes towards zero.

Thanks

Hey ashish, since these are both analog sensors, you may have to calibrate to what you consider a whisper, clapping, or loud noise. I don’t think either sensor has an exact value, rather they are relative outputs.

These are not units. An analog signal with 10 bits of information will have a max of 1023. Seeed, the sensor manufacturer, may have information about converting analog to units of the sound and light sensor.

Again, these are analog sensors, and are relative outputs.
