VNC Viewer and WiFi Problems[SOLVED]

here are some screen shots of what im doing

Sorry, I’m not seeing any screenshots.

Can you try entering the IP in VNC as 192.168.x.x:1. From the screenshot, it looks like you are entering 192.168.0.50, whereas you should enter: 192.168.0.50:1

thank so much its working now

Hello,

Recently I eagerly received our GoPiGo robot. It took the students about three days to assemble the kit and begin working with it.

We successfully connected with Ethernet, though it was more difficult than we anticipated. It seemed to be touchy.

After connecting with Ethernet, it was not difficult to connect wirelessly. We can successfully ping the device but when we return to the web page to control the device (dex.local) and select VNC, we arrive at a page on which we cannot do anything. There is no option to log in and the button is deactivated.

All we see is “Sent ProtocolVersion 003.008” along with a “Send CtrlAltDel” button.
We have spent an additional 2 class periods trying to establish this connection but have not succeed. We have verified that the wireless is working by pinging the device. It responds with a local address (wireless address).

Thank you for any help you are able to provide.

I’m sorry you’re having so much trouble!
Just to be certain, are you reaching this page https://www.dexterindustries.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Cinch-Chromebook-5-select_no-vnc-in-the-browser.jpg and you’re getting the problem when you click on VNC, or are you not even reaching that?

Also there’s some sort of a backdoor to noVNC. Try http://dex:8001/vnc.html?host=dex&port=8001
Try it and please let us know if that helps.
