Your GoPiGo robot can join the countdown and wish everyone a happy new year with this Python3 script: https://github.com/slowrunner/Carl/blob/master/Projects/NewYear/gopigo_newyear.py

  • PreRequisite: A speaker, and espeak-ng TTS
    (sudo apt-get install espeak-ng to install this text to speech engine)

  • Test it: python3 gopigo_newyear.py --test (will count down to 2nd future minute)

  • Run it: python3 gopigo_newyear.py Start on December 31st (with battery to last till midnight)
