BrickPi power pack

I recently purchased the BrickPi “Starter Kit”. It included a battery pack that holds eight AA batteries. But, it has a nine volt connector. The tutorials and all the write-ups I’ve read say that the BrickPi uses a nine volt input. With the eight AA batteries the power pack I have will produce 12 volts. Will the voltage regulator on the BrickPi be able to handle 12 volts? Can someone give me an answer to this…? I don’t want to blow up the thing before I even get started.
Thanks

Hey Ken, this is totally in the limits of the BrickPi. The voltage regulator can handle a lot more, the motors should be ok at 12V. So good to double check, but no, this won’t be a problem or damage anything.
