I recently booted up my RPI with the new OS by dexter industries and it had a failure and I tried a different sd card and that worked fine but I’m just wondering what made it fail so i don’t do it again…

Can you tell us more about what happened? What did you see? What did you do right before it?
The image can become corrupted if you’re pulling it out while the power is on; it can also be corrupted if you don’t properly shut down.
