Can power functions motors be connected to brickpi?

We’re actually working on an adapter right now. There’s no reason the power function motors can’t be connected, but right now I think the only option is an expensive adapter from LEGO or hacking together the wires.

Hopefully we can get an adapter out that fits PF motors, I think it woudl be a great addition to the BrickPi.
If you pull this off it will be brilliant as I have a number of power functions motors.
However, I do not have an NXT set and would rather not spend the money buying a set or more (NXT) motors.
