Raspberry PI - no network connection

Following the startup instructions, I’m unable to get the ethernet connection to activate. There’s no light on the ethernet port. Tried the connection on a MAC and Windows laptop. Any idea? Do I have a defective ethernet port on the raspberry pi?

Hello ss8590! I have a few questions for you:

1). Are you using the latest DI Image Raspbian for Robots? If you’re using an SD card we sent you, what date is printed on it?
2). Are the Power and ACT Lights Blinking?
3). Are you powering via the USB Raspberry Pi Power Supply?
4). Which version of the Raspberry Pi are you using?

Thanks!

John

1). Are you using the latest DI Image Raspbian for Robots? If you’re using an SD card we sent you, what date is printed on it? I received the SD card as part of the package. Label on the SD card showed "Raspbian for Robots 2015.11.09"
2). Are the Power and ACT Lights Blinking? Yes - Red and Green.
3). Are you powering via the USB Raspberry Pi Power Supply? Yes
4). Which version of the Raspberry Pi are you using? Raspberry PI Model B+ 512MB also part of the BrickPI package.

Here is the attachment

2). Are the Power and ACT Lights Blinking? Yes – Red and Green.

So do either of these blink, or are they always solid?

If the ACT light blinks, the Pi is booting properly. If it doesn’t, there’s most likely a problem with the SD Card. Either way, what are your lights doing?
